School Council

The School Council is the elected group of parents and school staff who oversee the planning and future development of Kings Park Primary School's future.

The School Council at Kings Park is comprised of a group of six parents and three Department of Education and Training employees (including the principal). The School Council is responsible for :

Developing the school's strategic plan.
Approving and monitoring the school's budget.
Determining the school's general educational policy.
Supervising the management and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Establishing the schools structure for consulting parents on decisions.
Reporting annually to the Minister of Education and the school community.
Generally inspiring interest in the school.

The School Council usually meets on the third Thursday of the month at 4pm in the Staff Room. Parents are welcome to attend school council meetings. If you would like to attend, please contact the office so that we can arrange for a school representative to welcome you to the meeting

Junior School Council

A Junior School Council has been established to facilitate the participation of students in the decision-making processes of the school, provide leadership opportunities for elected members and to develop self-confidence. The Council is composed of two student representatives from each Grade 5 and 6 classes.

Junior School Council members usually meet on a fortnightly basis to consider suggestions and make recommendations for school improvement. Junior school Councillors also take turns in conducting the weekly school assembly. The Junior School Council plays a key role in assisting to make the school a safe, happy, enjoyable and stimulating place for all students. Staff members work with the council to provide support and guidance.
